The November 4, 2008 Presidential Election
will be for the President and Vice President of the United States,
United States Senate, and Member of the 7th District of the United
States House of Representatives.
Absentee ballots must be available by September 20, 2008 or as soon
as possible thereafter.
The registration deadline
is Monday, October 6, 2008. Applications received with a postmark
of October 6, 2008 also will be accepted.
Voted absentee ballots received by mail must arrive by the close of
business on Tuesday October, 28, 2008. Voted absentee ballots cast
in person must be received by Saturday, November 1, 2008.
THE POLLS IN ALL VIRGINIA ELECTIONS
ARE OPEN FROM 6:00 A.M. TO 7:00 P.M. THOSE WAITING IN LINE AT
7:00 P.M. WILL BE ALLOWED TO VOTE.
Election files in Microsoft Excel format or Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format
can be retreived by clicking on the link on the results
page. Microsoft Excel files, marked "XLS", are in
our FTP server and may not be downloadable if you are on some company/government
servers that block FTP file transfers. A new live election results
page will be activated a few days before election day for testing.
Election returns from the precincts expected to begin and be posted
by approximately 7:20 p.m.
